In order to place a bid in the auctions on the MetAuction platform, you need to create a profile. After creating your profile, it must first be approved by a MetAuction employee before you can place any bids. Each person can create only one profile.
Once you’re registered, a MetAuction staff member will contact you by phone to approve your account and assign you a limited budget that you will determine together. Once your account is approved, you can start placing bids within the assigned budget.
By registering on our website, members are considered to have accepted notifications, announcements, and promotional advertisements through the site.
By placing an automatic buying order, you inform our auction system of the maximum amount you are willing to bid for a specific pigeon. If a higher bid than your current bid is placed, but it is lower than or equal to your automatic buying order, our system will automatically place a higher bid than your competitor's, making you the highest bidder again. Automatic buying orders always have priority over regular bids. This means that, for example, a buying order of 1,iii EUR will win over a regular bid of the same amount. If there are multiple buying orders of the same amount, the one placed first will win the bid. Your buying order is never visible to other visitors or buyers. It is only visible to you on our auction site.
When a new bid is made for any given pigeon within the last 5 minutes of an auction closing time, the auctioning closing time of that particular pigeon will be extended by another 5 minutes.
If you want to change your username (nickname), you can go to the “My Account” page. Please note that you will not be able to place bids with your new username until it is approved by the auction administrator. In the meantime, you can continue bidding with your current username. Usernames that are provocative or contain names belonging to someone else will not be accepted. Additionally, the use of the word “MetAuction” in usernames is prohibited.
Payment must be made within 7 business days after the auction ends. Once the payment is made, the pigeons will be shipped to their owners within 7 business days at the latest. To avoid losses due to currency transactions, payments will be made in euros. If the purchasing price is not paid on time by the customer, MetAuction or the third-party seller reserves the right to cancel the sale to the disadvantage of the buyer and resell the pigeon, unless a prior agreement has been made.
After receiving the pigeon, if any health issues arise within 24 hours, please inform the MetAuction administrator. Otherwise, the MetAuction will not take responsibility.
If a pigeon is dead on arrival, photos should be taken and reported to MetAuction and the original ring, ownership card and pedigree should be sent back to the MetAuction within 24 hours after receipt.
Everyone who places a bid and becomes a member is considered to have accepted these rules.
